Burgers are some of the easiest and most satisfying foods in America. In this recipe we make a healthy, juicy burger using ground chicken. The result is a flavor-packed burger you can chomp into without feeling guilty!
Ingredients
- 1lb ground chicken
- 1 diced small onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp (4 shakes) ground thyme
- Salt
- Pepper
- 4 squirts Cholula
- 3 tbsp fresh parsley (1 large pinch)
- 1 egg
- Wheat germ
- avocado
Directions
Mix all ingredients except avocado together in a bowl with hands. The wheat germ will be your binding agent, so sprinkle it in a little at a time until you get the desired moisture level.
These can be “wetter” than you think they should be. Once they are cooked, they will firm up.
Place patties on iron skillet over medium heat. Flip when bottom side has good color and you see the edges begin to turn white about half way up.
Toast a whole wheat bun, and top with avocado.

Notes
This is a very forgiving recipe. Feel free to substitute onion powder and garlic powder for the fresh ingredients. Try your other favorite chicken spices or toppings and post your comments below!
